The Scrips are a four-piece folk/Americana string band from Tyler, Texas. They began playing together in 2009 and, two years later, ducked into a small chapel to record the live Chapel Sessions EP. That original lineup—Marci Acheson (vocals, guitar), Brad Wofford (vocals, clawhammer banjo), Kelsey Pate (fiddle), and Shane Prescott (upright bass)—still shapes the sound: lo-fi, indie-leaning old-time that favors vibe over virtuosity, from droney banjo and fiddle pulse to close male–female harmonies. Sets lean heavy on originals with a few covers folded in. After a short break from gigging, The Scrips are back in East Texas—turning up in coffee shops, listening rooms, and the occasional backwoods secret show.
